建发师兄向我提过，慈济里有一个很有趣的现象：慈济人的孩子都很极端，不是很爱慈济，就是很恨慈济，没有中道可言。
Jiuan SX told me that in Tzu Chi there is an interesting observation. Children whose parents are Tzu Chi volunteers mostly are very extreme, they either love Tzu Chi or hate Tzu Chi. There is no middle ground.
看了上人的菩提心要，我终于明白为什么。讨厌慈济的孩子，大多是嫉妒和不满慈济占去了他们父母太多的时间，因该是他们父母陪他们的时间。喜欢慈济的孩子，大多是了解和谅解父母在慈济做的事是重要的，是有意义的。他们为了能有时间陪父母，加入慈济，与父母携手付出。
After Master's teaching, I understand why. For those who hate Tzu Chi, they are mostly jealous and unhappy that Tzu Chi took up so much of their parents' time, time which was supposedly to be spending with them. For those who love Tzu Chi, they realized and understand that what their parents are doing are very important and enriching. In order to spend more time with their parents, they joined Tzu Chi and spend time contributing hand in hand with their parents.
