Recently, while searching for Tzu Ching news, I came across a blog from a fellow Tzu Ching from Singapore. Through her I got to know more about Tzu Ching back in Singapore.
最近，在网上搜寻慈青新闻时，无意中看到一位新加坡慈青的博客。从她那，我了解到更多有关于新加坡慈青的活动。
I am very surprise that Singapore Tzu Ching is very well developed and have branches in all the 3 universities as well as the various polytechnics in Singapore. I spent 5 years (undergraduate and graduate) in National University of Singapore (NUS) and have never heard of Tzu Chi or Tzu Ching. The reason could be because partly NUS student association does not recognize Tzu Ching as a student society because they only allow 1 student Buddhist society (NUS Buddhist Society) in university. The other reason I guess is that my fate with Tzu Chi belongs to Boston and not Singapore.
很惊讶的发现新加坡慈青发展的很好，新加坡在三所大学以及各理工学院都有慈青社。我在新加坡国立大学（国大）当了五年的本科和研究生，却从未听说过慈济或慈青。其一可能是因为国大学生总会只承认一个佛教社团（国大学佛学会），而慈青社在国大其实是地下社团。其二，我与慈济的因缘可能不在新加坡而是在波士顿。
I have been exchanging email with this Tzu Ching by the name of Shelley. I never met her before, hopefully she will still be in Singapore when I return this June (she is graduating from NUS this May). Singapore Tzu Ching has their own activities like recycling and gatherings. They visit Silra's home for the Leprosy twice a month. Most interesting, they have their own newsletters!
我一直在跟名为Shelley的国大慈青通过电子邮件交谈。素未谋面，希望我六月回国时，她仍然在新加坡（她即将在五月毕业） 。新加坡慈青有许多自己的活动，如每个礼拜天环保、在宿舍宣导和定期聚会。他们每个月访问喜乐之家两次，为麻风老菩萨送爱心。最有趣的，他们有自己的慈青刊物！

Personally, I like the above picture very much. Tzu Chi 8 major footprints are formed from countless Tzu Chi members walking down the Tzu Chi path of life. Every step is formed by seemingly average you and me, but when we put our mind and soul together, we can achieve the unachievable.
