打电话给上人 Calling Master Cheng Yen

今天和于加师姐在网上聊天。恭喜于加师姐成功克服困难，回志业体任职。我向于加师姐要了她办公室的电话，有空会打电话和她聊聊。

I was chatting with Sarah online today, congratulating her on overcoming all the difficulties to return to Hualian to work. I asked Sarah for her office phone number, in case I feel like calling for a chat.

忽然起了个念头，向于加师姐要上人的电话。于加师姐说打精舍总机，常住师父会接听。失望了一阵子，因为还是不能和上人通电话。可是念头一转，就算我真的和上人通了电话，我要向上人说什么呢？

All of a sudden, I got an idea and asked Sarah for Master’s phone number. Sarah told me to call the main line and the residential disciples will receive our call. I was quite disappointed for a moment because I am still unable to speak to Master directly through phone. But then, even if I really got the chance to speak to Master on the phone, what would I say?

听过师姑分享，一位师姐当着上人的面，向上人说了一句「上人，我爱你！」上人回答说「做给我看」。而我这个不长进的弟子，刚刚决定不回志业体，有什么面目见上人阿！

A SG shared before that a SJ once said "Master, I love you!" in front of Master. Master replied, "Show me your love." As a disciple, I am not hardworking enough and even decided not to return to Hualian. How can I face Master if I really got a chance?

当下决定，要在本地努力精进、努力付出、努力承担，以报答上人教诲之恩。

I decided on the spot to work hard, study hard and contribute more. This is the only way I can repay master’s teachings.

有书读是多么幸福啊，我们要多感恩。能走路对我们而言，是理所当然的。可是“我要走路”这四个字，是如此的震撼。

We must be grateful that we have a chance to get an education. Walking, to us is a common and usual feat. But "I want to walk" this 4 words are so touching.
